A lot of the stuff I make never gets finished and as such never gets posted, either because I deem it a bad base to work off or I get bored of the idea. The idea of "touchups" is to open up those old projects, some of which were started a LONG while ago, and improve them as much as I can in 20 minutes or less. It's an exercise against perfectionism and quick iteration as I obviously won't get the picture to my (shockingly low) quality standards in just 20 minutes. Plus it's fun to see how my skills have progressed over months or potentially even years. It's also an excuse to post more stuff, and if the file's just sitting there on my desktop gathering dust, I might as well toss it out.
tl;dr - these pictures are shit. don't expect much from them.
This image was a concept sketch largely based off Witch Hunters from Warhammer fantasy and Bloodborne Hunters. It was supposed to be part of a series but I never got around to it. Concept pieces are meant to be functional, but are rarely fun to look at, so I just spruced up the lighting a bit, loosened some edges and added some detail. There's a lot of stuff I still don't like, but the point of this series isn't to produce works I'm proud of.
Some would look at this picture and say that I just made a shadowy mess and removed any sense of detail from the image while completely ignoring lighting consistency and I'd totally agree.
